Appliance Removal in Cochrane – No Roundabouts, Just Pickup
If you live in Cochrane, you know the drill. That old fridge has been sitting in the garage since you upgraded from Canadian Tire. The washer finally gave up halfway through a load, and now it's just taking up space. Or maybe you're clearing out a rental in Heartland before new tenants move in.
Whatever the reason, you need the thing gone. I'll come get it.
My name's TJ, and I run TJ's Junk Removal. I live and work right here in Cochrane — not Calgary, not Airdrie. I know the town, the neighbourhoods, and the quickest way to get from Sunset Ridge to the dump without hitting every roundabout on Griffin Road.
What I Haul and How It Works
I take pretty much any household appliance:
- Fridges and freezers (yes, even the big side-by-sides)
- Stoves, ovens, and ranges
- Washers and dryers
- Dishwashers
- Microwaves and countertop units
- Window AC units and dehumidifiers
The process is simple. You call or text me at (825) 559-2766, tell me what you've got and where you are — Rivercrest, Fireside, Sunset Ridge, downtown near the historic station, wherever. I give you a straight-up price over the phone, no haggling, no "we'll see when we get there." If it sounds good, I come by, load it up, and take it away. I handle the hauling, the lifting, and the disposal.
A Few Things About Appliance Removal in Cochrane
Fridges and freezers need to be prepped. If you're getting rid of a fridge or chest freezer, I need it unplugged and thawed out before I get there. I can't haul a unit that's still full of ice or food — that's a mess nobody wants. Give it a day or two to defrost, especially in the winter when garages stay cold.
I can't take appliances with refrigerants still inside. This is the law. If you've got a fridge, freezer, or AC unit that still has its refrigerant loop intact, I'll need to confirm that it's been properly drained by a certified technician before I can take it. Most people buying new appliances already have this handled by the delivery crew, but if you're not sure, just ask me when you call.
Cochrane's waste transfer station takes appliances. I take everything I haul to the Cochrane Eco Centre on Bow Valley Trail. They handle scrap metal recycling and proper disposal. Nothing of mine ends up in a ditch or dumped on a back road — that's not how I do business.
What It Costs
Pricing depends on what you're getting rid of and how much truck space it takes up. A single appliance like a stove or dishwasher fits a light load, so that's $100 for an eighth of a truck. A bigger fridge or a washer-dryer set runs $150 for a quarter truck. If you've got a whole basement full of old appliances plus other junk, I'll price it as a load — a full truck is $500, and any minimum charge or extra fee for things like fridges and freezers is in your quote up front.
I take cash, e-transfer, and credit card. No hidden fees, no disposal surcharges tacked on after the fact.
Service Areas in Cochrane
I cover the whole town — Rivercrest, Sunset Ridge, Fireside, Heartland, Greystone, Glenbow, and downtown Cochrane. If you're out on a rural property near the Ghost River or up toward Big Hill Springs, just mention it when you call. I can usually get out there with a bit of notice.
