Most basements in Didsbury aren't finished rec rooms. They're working spaces — cold storage for canning jars, the furnace room with a stack of old lumber against the wall, the spot under the stairs where three generations of "we'll use this someday" has piled up. How the job goes

I do the work myself — I'm not sending a crew of strangers through your house. I bring a truck and a couple of tarps, we walk through the basement together so you can point out what stays and what goes, and then I start carrying. If it's heavy, I bring a dolly. If the stairs are narrow or the ceiling is low, I work around it.

For the bigger stuff — a full basement clear-out after an estate, or a hoarding situation that's gotten out of hand — I'll spend the day on it. For a weekend declutter, I'm usually in and out in a couple of hours. You don't have to be there the whole time. A lot of my Didsbury customers hand me a key or leave the door unlocked and head to work or to the Farmers' Market on a Saturday.

What it costs

I price by volume, not by the hour, so you know the number before I load the first box. A single truckload runs around $300 to $500 depending on how full it is and how far I'm driving from the shop. If you've got a full basement that's going to take a couple of loads, I'll give you a flat quote for the whole job so there are no surprises.

I take everything to the proper facilities — the transfer station out on Highway 2A or the county landfill. Appliances get drained and handled right. If there's any salvage value in the metal, I'll note it and take it off your price.
