Running a business in Irricana means different headaches than running one in Calgary or Airdrie. You're on a smaller scale — a shop on Main Street, a garage operation out toward the grain elevators, a farm-adjacent workshop off Range Road 251 — and you don't have a facilities crew to call. When the scrap piles up, it's yours to deal with.
That's where I come in. I'm TJ, and I run TJ's Junk Removal out of the Airdrie area. I do commercial cleanouts for businesses in and around Irricana, and I've hauled enough pallets, busted shelving, and old equipment from this part of Rocky View County to know how it works out here.
What Irricana businesses actually need cleared
The jobs I see in Irricana tend to fall into a few familiar buckets. There's the retail side of things — shops along Main Street (Highway 9) that need to clear old stock, broken display fixtures, or the back room that's become a graveyard of unsold inventory. There's the ag-adjacent stuff: workshops and machine sheds that accumulate scrap metal, worn-out parts, and empty totes that have no business staying on the property. And there's the service side — offices, small mechanics, and HVAC guys whose yards fill up with the stuff customers wanted gone but never picked up.
Whatever you're dealing with, the job works the same way. I show up with a truck, we load it together, and I take everything to the right place — the landfill, a recycling depot, or a donation drop-off if it's still got life in it. You don't have to sort it, haul it, or make three trips with your own truck.
How the job works in Irricana
Because Irricana is a small town, most commercial jobs here are compact — a single truckload or less. That fits my pricing model well. I work on truck-space bundles: a light load at $100, a small load at $150, a medium load at $250, a heavy load at $375, and a full truck at $500. Labor, cleanup and sweep-up, disposal fees, and donation drop-offs are all built into every price. There's a $50 minimum for anything small.
The one thing that can change the price in Irricana specifically is access. If your shop or shed is set back off the road, or the stuff is up a flight of stairs, or it's buried in a tight corner, that's a long-carry or stairs situation, and those carry an extra fee. I'll be straight with you about it before we start — I'd rather quote it honest than surprise you at the end.
What I can and can't take
I haul just about anything a business in Irricana needs gone: old furniture, appliances, scrap metal, drywall and lumber from a reno, tires, concrete and brick, fridges and freezers (those have a Freon fee, since they need proper handling). Mattresses carry an extra fee too.
What I don't take: wet paint, chemicals, and anything hazardous. If you've got a drum of old solvent or a pile of treated lumber you're not sure about, call me and ask — I'd rather tell you no up front than have it sitting in my truck.
Why it's worth just calling
You've got better things to do with your afternoon than wrestle a broken shelving unit into the back of a pickup and drive it to the dump yourself. One call to (825) 559-2766, I come out, we load it, it's done. If you're in Irricana — Main Street, out toward the elevators, or anywhere in between — give me a shout and we'll get your place cleared out.
