Mattress Removal in Bragg Creek

If you live in Bragg Creek, you know the drill — there's no curbside pickup for an old mattress the way there is in Calgary. You've got a worn-out queen leaning against the garage, or a spare-room mattress that's been sitting in the basement since the kids moved out. Getting rid of it means hauling it somewhere yourself, and that's a pain in the back with a truck that isn't built for it.

That's where I come in. I'm TJ, and I run TJ's Junk Removal. I do mattress removal in Bragg Creek and the surrounding area — the hamlet itself, plus the acreages along Hwy 22, the West Bragg Creek road, and out toward Elbow Falls. I show up, load it, and take it away. You don't touch it.

How it works out here

Bragg Creek is spread out. You might be on a half-acre lot in the hamlet, or you might be twenty minutes down a gravel road past the provincial park. Either way, I come to you. When you call, tell me where you are and whether there's a clear path to the mattress — a driveway, a deck, a basement stairwell. If it's up a set of stairs in a cabin that's only open in summer, I plan for that.

Most of the work I do in Bragg Creek falls into a few buckets:

• Cabins and vacation properties — people clearing out a place they're selling or renting, and the old mattress has to go before the new furniture arrives.
• Acreages — a mattress that's been in a guest room or a workshop for years, and nobody wants to deal with it.

• Downsizing — folks moving into the seniors' housing or into Calgary and needing the place emptied.

What I'll actually do

I arrive with a truck and the gear to move a mattress without scraping your walls or scratching your floors. I take it out of whatever room it's in, carry it down, load it, and it's gone. If you've got a box spring and a frame too, I'll take those in the same trip — no extra call.

I don't resell mattresses. That's a hygiene thing and I won't pretend otherwise. What I do is take them to a proper disposal facility where they're handled responsibly. You don't need to worry about what happens after I leave.

What it costs

Pricing depends on the size of the mattress and how much else is going with it. A single queen mattress on the main floor is the simplest job. A king up a narrow cabin stairwell, or one that's been sitting in a damp basement, takes more time and that's reflected in the price. I'll give you a straight number over the phone before I come out, and that's what you pay — no surprise fees at the end.

One thing to know about Bragg Creek specifically: access can be tight in winter. If we get a big dump of snow and your driveway isn't plowed, let me know when you call so I can bring the right truck. It saves us both a headache.
