Garage Cleanout in Strathmore, Alberta
Garage Cleanout That Makes Sense for Strathmore
If you live in Strathmore, you know the drill. The garage starts as a place for the truck and the snowblower, and somewhere along the line it turns into a holding pen for everything that didn't fit in the house. Old furniture from a move to a place off Wheatland Trail, bins of kids' stuff that outgrew the basement, a workbench that hasn't seen a project since before the last chinook.
I'm TJ. I've been hauling junk out of Strathmore garages for years, and I've seen every version of this. The good news is, none of it's hopeless. You don't need to do it all in a weekend by yourself. You just need someone to show up, work, and take it all away — and that's what I do.
How It Works Here in Strathmore
Most of my Strathmore jobs start the same way. You call, we talk about what's in the garage, and I give you a straight estimate over the phone. No surprises, no "well, it depends" when I get there.
On the day, I show up with my truck and a couple of guys. We work through the garage together — you point at what stays, I haul what goes. I work fast but careful, so we're not dragging a scratched dresser across the floor of a garage you just painted. If the garage is attached to the house, I lay down runners so we don't track dirt through your kitchen.
I handle the loading and the hauling. You don't lift a finger. When we're done, the garage floor is swept and the only thing left is the stuff you actually wanted to keep.
What Strathmore Garages Actually Hold
Having done this across town — from the newer builds out in Brentwood and Westmount, to the older neighbourhoods around Wheatland Trail and the older houses near the golf course — I can tell you the patterns.
The newer garages in Brentwood and Westmount tend to be attached doubles that fill up fast with moving boxes, unused baby gear, and the mountain of stuff that comes with a house that's still being sorted. The older garages near the downtown core and the older residential streets are usually packed with years of accumulation — old appliances, scrap lumber, tires that should've been dropped at the transfer station years ago, and furniture that's been sitting so long nobody remembers where it came from.
Whatever yours looks like, I've seen worse. I don't judge, and I don't charge extra for a messy garage. The price is based on how much room the stuff takes in the truck, not how long it's been sitting there.
What I Take and What I Don't
I take just about everything out of a garage: old furniture, appliances, exercise equipment, tools, scrap metal, tires, paint (I'll handle the proper disposal), electronics, old mattresses, boxes of who-knows-what. I'll even take the old workbench and the shelving units if you want them gone.
What I don't take: hazardous chemicals like old solvents and pesticides, and I can't take asbestos. If you've got something like that, I'll point you to the right place to drop it off — the Strathmore transfer station handles most of it.
One thing worth knowing: I recycle what I can. Metals go to the scrap yard, usable furniture gets donated if it's in decent shape. So you're not just clearing space — you're keeping stuff out of the Wheatland County landfill.
Honest Pricing, No Games
Pricing for a garage cleanout in Strathmore runs anywhere from around $250 for a lighter job (a few bins, some old boxes, a broken chair) up to $800 or more for a full double garage that's completely packed. I quote based on how much space your stuff takes in my truck — you'll know the number before I ever back up to your driveway.
I charge one flat rate that includes the labour, the truck, the fuel, and the disposal fees. No hourly clock running, no surprise add-ons at the end. If I get there and it's worse than you described, I'll tell you before I start, and you can decide then. That's how I've always done it, and it's how I'll do it for you.
Call or text me at (825) 559-2766 and we'll get your garage back to being a garage again.
Frequently asked questions
Do you serve all of Strathmore or just certain neighbourhoods?
All of it. Brentwood, Westmount, the older streets near downtown, out toward the golf course — if you're in Strathmore, I'll come to you.
Can you take old paint cans and tires from my garage?
Yes. I'll haul them out and make sure they get disposed of properly. Paint goes to the right drop-off, and tires I take to the recycler, not the landfill.
How long does a typical garage cleanout take?
Most single garages are done in a couple of hours, and a packed double garage usually takes about half a day. I work steady until it's done.
Do I need to sort everything before you arrive?
Nope. Just point at what stays and what goes. If you're not sure about something, we'll decide together when I'm there.
What if my garage is really bad — years of stuff nobody's touched?
That's my specialty. I've cleaned out garages in Strathmore that hadn't been touched in over a decade. I won't blink, and I won't charge you extra for it.
