The older garages near the downtown core and the older residential streets are usually packed with years of accumulation — old appliances, scrap lumber, tires that should've been dropped at the transfer station years ago, and furniture that's been sitting so long nobody remembers where it came from.
Whatever yours looks like, I've seen worse. I don't judge, and I don't charge extra for a messy garage. The price is based on how much room the stuff takes in the truck, not how long it's been sitting there.
What I Take and What I Don't
I take just about everything out of a garage: old furniture, appliances, exercise equipment, tools, scrap metal, tires, paint (I'll handle the proper disposal), electronics, old mattresses, boxes of who-knows-what. I'll even take the old workbench and the shelving units if you want them gone.
What I don't take: hazardous chemicals like old solvents and pesticides, and I can't take asbestos. If you've got something like that, I'll point you to the right place to drop it off — the Strathmore transfer station handles most of it.
One thing worth knowing: I recycle what I can. Metals go to the scrap yard, usable furniture gets donated if it's in decent shape. So you're not just clearing space — you're keeping stuff out of the Wheatland County landfill.
Honest Pricing, No Games
Pricing for a garage cleanout in Strathmore runs anywhere from around $150 for a lighter job (a few bins, some old boxes, a broken chair) up to $500 for a full double garage that's completely packed. I quote based on how much space your stuff takes in my truck — a quarter load, half load, three-quarter load, or full load — and you'll know the number before I ever back up to your driveway. If your job needs a minimum charge or any extra-fee item like a mattress or fridge, that's all in the quote up front.
I charge one flat rate that includes the labour, the truck, the fuel, and the disposal fees. No hourly clock running, no surprise add-ons at the end.
