TJ's Junk Removal

Hot Tub Removal in Crossfield, Alberta

Hot Tub Removal · Crossfield · 3 min read

If you live in Crossfield, you already know the drill — that hot tub was great for two winters, and now it's a soggy, mossy hunk of fibreglass taking up half your backyard. Maybe the motor finally gave out, or the cedar skirt is rotting, or you've just had enough of the hydro bill. Whatever the reason, it needs to go, and it needs to go without you spending a weekend with a sawzall and a rented trailer.

I'm TJ. I run a small junk removal crew out of Airdrie, and I do hot tub removals all over Crossfield — from the newer builds along the east side past the golf course, down the older streets near the downtown core, and out into the acreages on the edges of town.

What Hot Tub Removal Actually Looks Like Here

A hot tub in Crossfield isn't the same job as one in Calgary. Here's why. Most of the houses in town are on standard lots, which means your tub is usually tucked tight against a fence line or sitting on a concrete pad behind the garage. There's rarely a wide open path to the street. My crew brings the right dollys and ramps to get it out through a side gate or around a corner without tearing up your lawn or your fence.

I also get a fair number of calls from the acreage folks just outside town. If your tub is sitting out on a gravel pad with a hundred feet of grass between it and the road, we'll bring a trailer that can handle the haul. No extra charge for the distance — I quote flat, and I quote up front.

What We Take and What We Don't

We haul out the whole unit — shell, motor, pumps, heater, cover, and the cedar or composite skirt. If it's a swim spa, we take those too. We leave the concrete pad behind unless you ask us to bust it out as well, which we can do for an extra fee. If the tub is still wired in, shut off the breaker and leave the disconnect; we're not electricians, and I won't pretend to be one. We'll cut the wires at the disconnect point and coil them up safely.

We don't cherry-pick parts and leave the rest. The whole thing goes on the truck, and we handle the disposal at a facility that takes fibreglass and plastics properly. You don't have to worry about where it ends up.

How a Job in Crossfield Usually Goes

Give me a call or text at (825) 559-2766. I'll ask you a few questions — where the tub sits, whether there's a gate, how far from the road it is — and give you a flat price over the phone. No site visit needed for most jobs, and no surprises when the crew shows up.

On the day, we show up in the time window I give you, drain and disconnect the tub if it's still full, tear it down if we need to get it through a tight spot, and load it out. Most Crossfield jobs are done in under two hours. We sweep up the debris and leave the yard tidy.

Some folks ask if they should drain it themselves first. It helps, but it's not required. If it's still full, we'll drain it onto the lawn or into a drain line you point out — never down the storm sewer.

What It Costs in Crossfield

Pricing depends on size and access, not on what town you're in. We cut the tub down and charge by the space it fills in the truck — most tubs land between the half-truck rate of $250 and the full-truck rate of $500, labour and disposal included. A swim spa, or a tub tucked into a tight corner that needs a long carry, carries a small extra fee. I'll tell you the exact number before I send a crew out, and that's the number you pay.

Call or text (825) 559-2766 and we'll get that tub out of your yard.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to drain the hot tub before you arrive?

It helps, but it's not required. If it's still full, we'll drain it onto the lawn or into a drain line you point out — never down the storm sewer.

Can you get a hot tub out through a narrow side gate?

Yes. Most Crossfield lots have tight access, so we bring dollys, ramps, and if needed we'll break the tub down to get it through. We'll tell you up front if your access is a problem.

Do you take the concrete pad the tub sits on?

Standard hot tub removal includes the tub, shell, motor, pumps, cover, and skirt. If you want the concrete pad busted out and hauled too, that's an extra fee we can quote.

Will you haul a hot tub from an acreage outside Crossfield?

Yes. We regularly work the acreages around town. As long as the trailer can reach the tub, we'll get it loaded — no extra charge for distance.

How do you price a hot tub removal?

Flat price over the phone based on the size of the tub and how hard the access is. We charge by the space the cut-up tub fills in the truck — most land between the half-truck rate of $250 and the full-truck rate of $500, labour and disposal included. What I quote is what you pay.
