Yard Waste That Crossfield Homes Actually Generate

Crossfield sits on the edge of the prairie, and that shows up in every yard. The wind off the field brings in tumbleweeds and dead grass that pile up against your fence line every spring. The cottonwood trees along the creek drop limbs after every big storm. And if you're on an acreage off Highway 2A or out toward the old grain elevators, you've got more ground to clear than any city lot.

I'm TJ. I've hauled yard waste from Crossfield homes and acreages for years, and I know the difference between a quick curb pickup and a job that needs a trailer and a couple of hours. Either way, I show up with the right equipment and I don't leave until the pile is gone.

What I Take and What I Don't

I haul grass clippings, leaves, branches, pruned trees, sod, topsoil, dirt, gravel, and old garden plants. If you've cleaned out a flower bed or torn down a shed and have a pile of organic debris sitting in the yard, that's my job.

What I don't take: hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, or anything that needs a special disposal permit. If you're not sure whether something counts as yard waste, call me at (825) 559-2766 and I'll tell you straight whether I can haul it.

How It Works in Crossfield

You tell me what you've got and roughly how much. I give you a price over the phone. On the day of your pickup, I come to your place — whether that's a lot in the newer subdivisions off Sunset Boulevard, an older home near the downtown core, or an acreage out past the golf course — and load it into my truck.

For bigger jobs, like a full property cleanup after a long winter, I'll bring a trailer and we can get it done in one visit. For smaller piles, my truck handles it fine. I back right up to your pile, so you're not dragging anything across the lawn. When I'm done, the load goes to a proper disposal site where it gets composted or chipped, not dumped somewhere it shouldn't be.

What It Costs

Pricing depends on volume, not on how far you live from town. A few bags of leaves and some pruned branches usually land around $100 to $150 — an eighth to a quarter truck. A truck half-full of mixed yard waste after a big spring cleanup is $250, and even a completely full truck is a flat $500 with loading and disposal included. I'll give you a firm number before I come out, and there are no surprise fees at the end.

The one thing that changes the price is access. If your pile is behind a locked gate or down a narrow path I can't back the truck up to, it takes longer to load by hand. That's fair to both of us, and I'll tell you upfront if that's the case.

Spring and Fall Are Busy — Book Ahead

Crossfield's cleanup seasons are predictable. After the snow melts in March and April, everyone's out raking and pruning. And in October, before the ground freezes, people are clearing garden beds and hauling the last of the season's growth. Those weeks book up fast, so if you know the cleanup is coming, call ahead and get a slot.

If you've got a pile of yard waste in Crossfield that needs to disappear, call TJ's at (825) 559-2766 and I'll get you on the schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Do you pick up yard waste from acreages outside Crossfield town limits?

Yes — I regularly haul from acreages along Highway 2A, toward Madden, and out past the golf course. As long as you're within a reasonable drive of Crossfield, I'll come to you.

Can you haul dirt and sod, or is that only for a landscaping company?

I haul dirt, topsoil, and sod regularly. If you've excavated a garden bed or pulled up old lawn, I'll take the spoils. Just let me know it's in the pile when you call so I bring the right trailer.

Do I need to bag my leaves and grass clippings first?

No. I'd rather you didn't bag them — loose piles load faster and take up less space in the truck. Just pile everything in one spot where I can back up to it.

What happens to the yard waste after you take it?

It goes to a licensed disposal facility where organic material gets composted or chipped. Nothing gets burned or dumped on crown land. I keep every load traceable.

How fast can you get to my place?

Within a few days in most cases, and often same-week during the slow season. During the spring and fall rush, I book about a week out, so calling ahead is smart.
