What we take (and what we don't mess with)

We haul out just about any household appliance:

How it works in Crossfield

Crossfield isn't Calgary. We don't have the same curb-side pickup options, and the county transfer station has its own rules about what they'll take and when. That's where we come in.

Here's the simple version:

2. I give you a price over the phone — no surprises, no hidden fees.
3. We pick a time. Mornings work best if you're on an acreage, but I work around your schedule.
4. I show up, load everything onto my truck, sweep up any mess, and head out.
5. I take it all to the right place — recycling, donation if it's still usable, or the dump if it's beyond saving.

I don't use a third-party dispatcher. When you call, you get me. I'm the one who shows up, too.

What affects the price

Pricing is straightforward, but a few things can move the number up or down:

• How many appliances — one fridge is one price. A fridge plus a washer and dryer is less per unit.
• Size and weight — an old cast-iron stove weighs a lot more than a modern stainless one. I factor that in.
• Location on the property — if it's sitting in a garage with clear access, that's the easiest. If I'm hauling it up from a basement or out of a tight crawlspace, it takes more time.
• Acreage vs. in-town — if you're out on a quarter section and I'm driving gravel roads to find your place, I might add a bit for the extra time. I'll tell you upfront.

I don't charge for drive time within Crossfield or the immediate area. If you're further out toward Madden or Cremona, I'll let you know before I head your way.

What happens after I take it

I sort everything at my yard. Appliances that still work and are in decent shape go to local charities or metal recyclers. Stuff that's beyond repair gets stripped of hazardous components and scrapped. I try to keep as much out of the landfill as possible.

If you're in Centrefield or Stonegate, I can usually be in and out in under 30 minutes. Acreages take a bit longer depending on where the appliance is stored, but I don't rush the job. I'd rather do it right than have to come back.
