How commercial pricing works in Calgary

I charge for the space your junk takes up in my truck — nothing more. The base is a $50 minimum for a light load, then it goes up by how full the truck gets: $100 for an eighth, $150 for a quarter, $250 for a half, $375 for three-quarters, and $500 for a full load. Every price includes the labour to haul it, sweeping up after, disposal fees, and dropping off anything that can be donated.

So when you call about a cleared-out retail bay in Kensington or a back room full of old shelving in Forest Lawn, I'll ask a few questions, give you a straight answer on what bundle you're looking at, and that's the number. No surprise "travel charges" for being on the other side of the city from me — I drive all over Calgary and it doesn't change your price.

What Calgary businesses actually need hauled

A lot of my commercial work here is the same story. Retail shops closing or renovating in places like Inglewood and Marda Loop with old display racks, broken fixtures, and stock that didn't sell. Offices in the core or along Macleod Trail with cubicle panels, filing cabinets, and computers that need to go. Restaurants and cafés swapping out equipment or closing up — I've hauled more kitchen gear out of the neighbourhoods around 4th Street and along International Avenue than I can count.

Warehouses and shops in the northeast industrial area near the airport and in the southeast around Ogden tend to need the bigger bundles — full truck loads of pallets, packing materials, and damaged inventory. The flat-rate model helps here because you're not watching a clock. We load until the truck's full and that's what you pay.

One thing I always flag: items like fridges, freezers, mattresses, tires, and concrete or brick carry an extra fee because of how they have to be handled and disposed of. I'll tell you upfront if what you're clearing includes any of those, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

How a commercial cleanout works

You don't need to be on site the whole time if you've got a manager or staff member who can point me at what's going. I show up at the agreed time, we walk the space, confirm the bundle, and I get to work. I bring the crew and the truck — you don't rent anything or arrange disposal. When the truck's loaded, I sweep up and take everything off your hands. Donation-eligible items get dropped at local charities where they can do some good instead of filling a landfill.

For larger operations — say you're clearing a full floor or a whole warehouse — we'll talk about whether one truckload handles it or if you need more than one visit. The pricing stays the same per load either way.
